When the outside world seems overwhelming…

…how do I cope, stay grounded and on my path?

I confess, sometimes it feels a task hard to accomplish, especially after a long day, filled with stuff bad enough to get me worked up for the rest of the day.

But I try to meditate on a daily basis… Night, actually, as I do it when I go to bed and before falling asleep.
In fact, one thing tends to lead to another, with me, as meditation helps me to relax enough to fall asleep.

And I try to keep a positive attitude and mindset. It’s like ripples in the water: if you start your day in a bad mood, it will only get worse. And the opposite is equally applicable.

Also, it is all in the little things: a candle or an incense stick just begging for you to light it up, home decor that won’t let you forget that daily hardships are not the only thing in life, and that there is something else waiting for you, in and outside of you, to bring your mind home, to your happy place, to your inner Goddess (and God – after all, we are dualities: there is light and dark within us, comprised within ourselves  we’ll find the stormy sea and the peaceful forest).

It is possible to keep our path even when the world seems to crush us. Be mindful in whatever you do, listen to your inner voice and trust yourself, inhale and exhale deeply as it’ll help you to calm down, and look at the beauty around you – the world is a beautiful place, and we do not notice it enough.

Try to meditate and rest often, have fun and be kind to yourself, through thoughts and actions. And keep in mind that life is a cycle, and tomorrow a brand new day.

Loreena McKennitt – All Souls Night

Right now I am sharing a song that speaks to me in so many ways, in such deep levels, that takes me to a different place and time, and that wakes up my Pagan side. It makes me happy, makes me feel like dancing under the Moon, fills me with energy.

This song makes me feel at peace.

Loreena McKennitt – All Souls Night

Bonfires dot the rolling hills
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Somewhere in a hidden memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires
And dancing till the next sunrise.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

Figures of cornstalks bend in the shadows
Held up tall as the flames leap high
The green knight holds the holly bush
To mark where the old year passes by.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
And moving to the pagan sound.

Standing on the bridge that crosses
The river that goes out to the sea
The wind is full of a thousand voices
They pass by the bridge and me.

Path to self-discovery…

This is where I’ll be sharing my path to self-discovery, how I find balance between my professional life, my social life (family and friends and people wanting to drag me out of my little bubble, as my sister would put it), and my pagan path while still being a city girl (that spent all her vacations in the country).

Well, the cat’s out of the bag, now!
Yes, I am a Pagan. I’ve been treading this path for a while now… years, actually.

I come from a Catholic background, but I didn’t fit in. I read as much as I could about other religions and spiritual paths, and I bumped into Paganism.
And it all made sense then.

Of course, Paganism is a huge universe, with multiple paths. That is what’s so good about this: I’m an eclectic witch – I choose to use what makes sense to me, and discard what does not.

Also, you’ll have to endure my rants (especially, social criticism) from time to time (sorry about that!), but I’ll treat you with music and poems (mine or from other authors), music, movie and book reviews, and so on. Oh! And Photography! I love photography and I am an amateur photographer! There! Not so bad, I hope! ^_^

Also, I am a newbie with Worpress (I am used to other types of blogs: blogger, mostly), so I’m bound to mess up terribly most times, until I get the hang of it.

Feel free to write to me or comment whenever you feel like it!

Be happy! ^_^
